Losar 2024 – Year of the Wood Dragon
The Centre Culturel Tibétain wishes you a happy Losar, the Tibetan New Year!
Lama Jigmé sends the following message, inviting us to reflect on the importance of inner peace and happiness and to strive for a more compassionate and loving world.
Hello! Happy Losar!
As you may know, this week marks Losar, the Tibetan New Year, so I extend my heartfelt wishes for a joyous and prosperous Losar to all of you and your families.
The Tibetan calendar follows a different system of astrology and logic compared to the Western calendar. The New Year is determined by the solar movement, and this year, we are entering the Year of the Dragon.
The dragon year is often associated with challenges and difficulties, but it also represents strength and resilience. I urge you to approach this year with a positive mindset and to remain steadfast in your pursuit of happiness and fulfilment.
The key to a happy and peaceful life is to cultivate a calm and compassionate mind. This means letting go of negative emotions such as anger, disappointment, and violence. Instead, focus on developing love, kindness, and understanding towards others.
External happiness is temporary, but true happiness comes from within. By nurturing a positive and compassionate state of mind, you can create a more harmonious and fulfilling life for yourself and those around you.
I encourage you to engage in regular meditation and mindfulness practices to cultivate inner peace and happiness. Remember, a happy mind leads to a happy life.
I wish you all the very best for the New Year.
